Asaka Land Development Pioneer Residence -Former Oyama Residence-

The Asaka Land Development Pioneer Residence was restored and preserved as the only remaining residence of the 18 houses from the Ehime-Matsuyama Land Cultivation Society established by newcomers from Matsuyama Domain to participate in the Asaka Land Development Project. Regular houses in Matsuyama back then were said to measure about 7m by 11m, with no hearth, and the kitchen being outdoors. All these characteristics can be seen here.
