Yasuga Shrine

Yasuga Shrine is said to have been named by combining one character each from Hachiman Taro, worshipped by the local farmers, and Sugawara no Michizane, revered by the newcomers from Tosa Domain, who are both enshrined here. The rituals at the shrine were the only source of enjoyment for the newcomers, whose lives lacked in joy and entertainment in the new foreign land that they moved to.
