Sangaku (Inari Shrine)

Traditional Japanese mathematics is no longer used now after the adoption of Western mathematics, but it is said that the Japanese mathematicians of Koriyama played a big role in the calculation of land surveys and irrigation water requirements in the Asaka Land Development Project and construction of the Asaka Canal. It is an academically important cultural artifact, as it allows us to understand the standard of Japanese mathematics, as well as the distribution of scholars.
